An Actress is what I wanted to be – so I started early.
Before I was even eight years old, I was on stage at the opera in Hannover. In tiny parts, of course. I graduated from angel, devil, moor and bluebell to small speaking roles, then moved on to broadcasting and recording.
Longing for an international career I moved to Swinging London after college. My first TV part was so small, it didn’t matter that I couldn’t sing.
My 21st birthday I spent working at the BBC TV-Centre and returned to my digs pretty drunk.
My first film part was in a „Fu Man Chu“ production, and my German colleagues put me on to filming back in Germany, too.
I was pretty lucky, I suppose, I filmed in England and Germany, soon in leading parts in major productions opposite such stars as Marcello Mastroianni and Gregory Peck.
Nonetheless, it is the bit part I played opposite James Bond Sean Connery in „You Only Live Twice“ which has had the longest lasting effect on my career.
